My fight for cannabis law reform is personal.
When my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I became his carer. Heavy medications, including fentanyl and morphine, couldn’t ease his pain or restore his appetite. Medicinal cannabis did. It helped my father become comfortable, happy and able to enjoy the food he loved again.
But getting that medicine wasn’t easy. Finding a doctor willing to prescribe it was difficult, the cost was prohibitive, and the rules didn’t account for his individual needs.
That experience has stayed with me, which is why I am now standing for Eastern Victoria to push for compassionate, evidence-based cannabis laws and fairer treatment of medicinal cannabis patients.
Help me take this fight to Parliament.
