Harley Mackenzie - Candidate for Carrum

Dr Harley Mackenzie is running for the Victorian state seat of Carrum as a candidate for Legalise Cannabis Victoria.

With four decades of experience in the energy industry and public policy, Harley is standing for election because he believes Victorians deserve smarter, fairer and more compassionate laws, particularly when it comes to healthcare, justice and economic opportunity.

While Legalise Cannabis Victoria’s core focus is cannabis law reform, the party’s values extend much further.

Harley supports drug policies based on evidence rather than fear or stigma, home grow rights, and affordable access to medicinal cannabis to help ease cost-of-living pressures.

He also believes in building a regulated local cannabis and hemp industry that creates jobs and economic opportunities for small businesses, farmers and local communities.

At the heart of Harley’s campaign are civil liberties, harm reduction and reducing unnecessary pressure on police and the courts.

Cannabis law reform isn’t about promoting use. It’s about replacing outdated laws with a fairer approach that respects personal freedom, supports people managing their health and makes better use of public resources.

Harley is running to bring these issues to the forefront and ensure cannabis law reform remains part of the political conversation in Victoria.
